MAKING A HEALTHY DIFFERENCE
Seattle native, LouAnn Brandjes, believes that nature provides the ultimate healing and wellness solutions. Her company, Nature’s Inventory, is built on that strong conviction. Brandjes’ inspiring entrepreneurial story is that of a woman who used her grim prognosis of a debilitating autoimmune disease to create a million dollar business.
As a young woman just out of school, LouAnn became ill with a variety of symptoms that were both ignored and largely misdiagnosed. LouAnn struggled for over a decade with multiple doctors’ opinions and many trial medications. To no avail, her health continued to deteriorate. After 12 years of frustrating and debilitating pain and discomfort, she was finally diagnosed with Lupus, a degenerative, autoimmune disease.
In an effort to better understand her health condition, she set out on a path for discovery. After much research, LouAnn discovered that almost 90% of people diagnosed with an autoimmune disease are women. In her efforts to find a connection, her discoveries led to even more questions including: why is the average female consumer legally exposed daily to concentrated doses of so many toxins? Exposure to toxins that are found in the most common household cleaning products, over processed foods, pet products, and gardening products.
In response to her discoveries, LouAnn took steps to simplify her own lifestyle and rid her life of the toxins that were poisoning her body and robbing her of her health. She started with the removal of common household products that contained dangerous chemicals marketed and sold for both the interior and exterior of the home. Similarly to most households across America, her kitchen, laundry room, and garage were full of products that not only contained dangerous chemicals, but many required proper hazardous waste disposal.
The next logical step was to find products that would be safe for herself and her family. A direct result was her discovery that she could make her own household cleaning products that were very effective, non toxic, and did not pose a threat to humans or the environment. Her company called Simple. Pure. Clean. grew large enough to require distributors all around the county.
Simultaneous to the production and use of her all-natural cleaning supplies, LouAnn experimented with the use of natural oils to cleanse her own body of the toxins that that were slowly poising her. She used essential oils that have been used for thousands of years to assist the body’s natural cleansing organs: the liver, kidney, and lymphatic system. As her health began a reversal and was improving, she continued to learn and study the benefit of essential oils found in a variety of botanical sources.
She slowly developed her Wellness Oils product line using her own patented blends of therapeutic grade essential oils on a base of grape seed oil. By the end of the year she will have organic certification on all of her products as well as her manufacturing plant. All of her products are manufactured right here in her warehouse so that there is no cross-contamination with other products or any synthetic ingredients that other manufacturers may use in their products. The ingredients will be changing to an organic jojoba oil as a base oil and the majority of the essential oils will be organic. Some essential oils cannot be obtained in an organic but the product will still be considered organic because the essential oils that are not organic will make up less that 2% of the product. None of our products are ever tested on animals (other then the animal products of course!). All products are certified vegan; the products contain no synthetic ingredients, preservatives, or synthetic fragrances.
She shared her various essential oil blends with family and friends. Word of mouth and proof of the success of the products grew in popularity to where her company Nature’s Inventory is today. Nature’s Inventory, a woman owned and operated business, produces over 100 Wellness Oils that focus on the symptoms and in many cases, prevention of common diseases and health conditions. Her products are sold globally through retail stores, pharmacies, doctor offices, and on the company website.
